Do you work for a First Nations Community? Would you like to organize training for your community members?
SGEI works with First Nations in the Treaty 3 area to bring high-quality training and micro credentials to YOUR community. You tell us your community needs, and one of our skilled Training Coordinators will help design a training program that works best for your participants.
What we offer First Nations communities
Custom programming
You describe your participants’ needs, and we can suggest one or multiple training programs or micro credentials to set them up for success. Whether that’s becoming more employable, or learning a specific trade needed in your community, we’ve got you covered.
On-site training
Our trainers will travel to your community to deliver training. If your training needs require a specific training location, we can arrange or pay for transportation.
Training allowances
Training allowances may be available to eligible community members, enabling participants to earn a wage while training.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
SGEI sources all Personal Protective Equipment for training programs that participants can keep upon graduating. Reach out to a Training Coordinator to see if your community is eligible to have the cost of PPE covered.
Programs and micro-credentials we offer
SGEI offers a variety of training programs (developed by SGEI and may or may not include industry certifications) and micro-credentials (rapid training programs offered by post-secondary education institutions across Ontario that are eligible for OSAP funding).
