Internet Service Technician Training

July 6 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

This program runs from July 6-31, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. at SGEI’s Rainy Lake Campus.

Program description
This program prepares Treaty #3 Citizens for careers as Internet Service Technicians – the people who install and maintain the fibre optic networks that connect homes and businesses to reliable internet service in our communities. Participants will learn how fibre networks work, how to install and connect cables, how to set up internet equipment, and how to troubleshoot common connection issues. This hands-on training takes place outdoors in local communities, where technicians connect homes to fibre networks. Opportunities are available within Treaty #3 territory and may require travel, with additional placements potentially available outside the territory.
