Career planning
Meet with an Employment Advisor to get access to one-on-one employment counselling, career exploration, free employment assessments, an individualized action plan and ongoing coaching to help you reach your employment goals.
Job search support and workshops
With a mix of one-on-one support and access to workshops, we can help you develop a professional resume and cover letter, prepare for an upcoming interview, assist you in searching for jobs, connect you with employers and job opportunities, and provide ongoing retention support after you’ve been hired.
Workshops
We plan regular workshops to help job seekers earn certificates, prepare for interviews, and create resumes and cover letters required for employment.
Holistic support
As an education institute, SGEI is uniquely positioned to offer jobseekers with additional supports and resources available at SGEI and in our communities. We can help participants with in-house mental health services, additional training, Indigenous cultural mentoring, and educational upgrading, plus community referrals for housing, addiction, income, and identification support.
Additional supports
Depending on your employment plan and eligibility, support may be available for transportation assistance, work attire, safety equipment and PPE, training costs, and other approved employment-related supplies and expenses.
