DESCRIPTION:These weekly sessions will be on 2\, 3\, 9\, 11\, 16\, 18\, & 25\, 2026 from 5:15 to 6 p.m. \nJoin us for regular public fitness sessions in the Kenora Campus auditorium! \nPeople of all experience levels are welcome! Classes won’t be specific to powwow dancing\, but the sessions’ concepts will be built on the strength that powwow dancers use. \nSome classes will be specific to types of dancing\, while others will be workouts to gain the strength and stamina required for dancing and health in general. \nThe activities/dances are not limited by gender dance types. The sessions will have jingle dress dancing\, jigging\, zumba\, and more. There may also be yoga\, cardio\, and upper- and lower-body workouts. \nThese events are free and open to everyone! DESCRIPTION:This training is provided in partnership with IHSA. \nWorking at Heights training runs on the first Wednesday of each month for four months starting on March 4. The remaining dates are April 1\, May 6\, and June 3\, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at SGEI’s Kenora Campus. \nWorking at Heights (WAH) training is mandatory for workers who may use a method of fall protection to protect themselves from a fall hazard. Working at Heights training teaches workers to identify and control fall hazards\, covering fall prevention (barriers\, safe ladder/scaffold use) and fall protection (harnesses\, anchor points\, rescue)\, combining theory with mandatory hands-on practice for compliance with safety regulations. \n\n\nProgram cost\n$250 (Funding may be available for those who qualify. DESCRIPTION:The 40-hour Wildland Firefighter Training course intensely focuses on safety and prepares participants to assume the role of an entry-level forest fire crew member. This course is mandatory for MNR Fire Rangers and private contract firefighters. \nCredential\n \nWildland Firefighter Certification valid for 2026/2027 \nWhat you’ll learn \nAttendance at all sessions is mandatory to complete the course. This course equips participants with the skills to safely and effectively work as forest fire crew members under the direction of a supervisor. \nParticipants will be trained in: \n\nBasic fire behaviours\nFire terminology\nMaintaining and operating equipment\, including power pumps\, suppression hand tools\, communications equipment and camping equipment\n\n\nCost \nFREE.
