SUMMARY:Working at Heights Training
DESCRIPTION:This training is provided in partnership with IHSA. \nWorking at Heights training runs on the first Wednesday of each month for four months starting on March 4. The remaining dates are April 1\, May 6\, and June 3\, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at SGEI’s Kenora Campus. \nWorking at Heights (WAH) training is mandatory for workers who may use a method of fall protection to protect themselves from a fall hazard. Working at Heights training teaches workers to identify and control fall hazards\, covering fall prevention (barriers\, safe ladder/scaffold use) and fall protection (harnesses\, anchor points\, rescue)\, combining theory with mandatory hands-on practice for compliance with safety regulations. \n\n\nProgram cost\n$250 (Funding may be available for those who qualify. SUMMARY:Hospitality Skills for Camp Services Training
DESCRIPTION:This training runs from March 9 to April 17\, 2026\, Monday to Friday\, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. \nThis microcredential program will help prepare participants for entry-level opportunities while learning multiple roles\, such as dock hand\, cook’s helper\, housekeeping\, and serving in remote locations. This training will also develop the skills required for traditional hospitality and food and beverage services positions. \nEligibility\nOpen to Indigenous youth age 18-30\, living on reserve and receiving income assistance. \nProgram cost\nFREE for eligible applicants.
