  • Seven Generations Education Institute was
  • formed in 1985 because a need was
  • identified in the local area to increase
  • education in the Anishinaabe communities.
  • It was formerly known as the Rainy Lake
  • Ojibway Education Authority with the name
  • change occurring in July 1999.

  • It is the ten First Nations in the Rainy Lake Tribal Area which governs Seven Generations Education Institute through the Board of Directors.
