Seven Generations Education Institute, Rainy River District School Board and SayITFirst have partnered to develop Anishinaabemodaa, an Anishinaabemowin language revitalization strategy that aims to help put Anishinaabemowin back into the homes of the Anishinaabe people.
The Anishinaabemodaa initiative supports language revitalization through free educational resources for:
- Families wanting to speak Anishinaabemowin at home
- Anishinaabemowin learners
- Current of future Anishinaabemowin educators through preschool to post-secondary
The Anishinaabemodaa staff create free themed language kits for parents, learners and educators that include
- Lesson plans
- Sound charts
- Sound recordings
For educators, Anishinaabemodaa hosts regular professional development sessions designed to assist help instructors bring Anishinaabemowin into the classroom.
