Position Description:

Seven Generations Education Institute and the Rainy River District School Board are committed to the ongoing support for Indigenous students within the Rainy River District and Treaty #3.

Reporting to the Director of Education for the Rainy River District School Board and the Chief Executive Officer for Seven Generations Education Institute, the Indigenous Education Leader works with Rainy River District Schools and First Nation and Métis communities within the Rainy River District to promote student achievement and well-being with a focus on Indigenous Education for all elementary and secondary students.

The successful candidate will have superior interpersonal and communication skills, have demonstrated experience and success in instructional practices.   They will have demonstrated leadership qualities and experience combined with a strong desire to serve schools and most importantly, students. The successful candidate will have proven abilities in engaging Indigenous parents and communities.


  • Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
  • Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Experience in curriculum planning, classroom teaching, and supporting other educators
  • Superior interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture, heritage, and traditions as well as the Ontario Ministry of Education’s First Nation, Métis, Inuit Education Framework

Salary:  Related to education and experience
