General Description

Manidoo Baawaatig Event Centre is looking for an Event Coordinator to join our growing team! The Event Coordinator must be able to work well independently in a fast-paced environment and must be able to work within a team setting. The Event Coordinator will meet with clients to plan event(s), book venues, food, and entertainment. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for cleanup and ensure events run smoothly, efficiently and will handle any crisis that may come up.

Responsibilities – Major

  • The Event Coordinator will meet with clients; listen to their needs and present ideas and solutions to their requirements. Must be able to work with suppliers, contractors, employees, wait staff and many other parties at the same time.
  • Must have proficient computer skills and excellent communication/interpersonal skills, along with excellent customer service.
  • Must have the ability to plan, budget and organize events.
  • The Event Coordinator will work with the Chef(s) on food delivery, presentation(s) and pick up of materials/supplies.

Responsibilities – Minor

  • Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment; flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information and must have knowledge of correct protocol (s) for specific
  • Follow all SGEI’s and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the Manager/Supervisor; and complete safety training(s) and certification(s).
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance, are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, protect company assets.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Must be in good physical condition; able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift; able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, late nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines.
