Meeting your learning goals, preparing you for your future
Our role is to provide quality accredited programming at the post secondary level to members of our communities and neighbours in a respectful, caring, and honourable manner. We respect Anishinaabe teachings and incorporate Anishinaabe Gikendaasowin through program selection, hiring of instructors and selection of partner institutions who support our Seven Generations Education Institute vision, mission and philosophy.
We address the labour market and capacity building needs of our member First Nations, Treaty 3 First Nations, Aboriginal people and others in northwestern Ontario through partnerships with colleges and universities and delivery of targeted programs. Our graduates include teachers, social workers, police officers, chefs, business owners, directors of health, education, economic development and more. Our graduates are found across Treaty 3 territory and beyond.
Current post secondary partnerships include Canadore, Sault, and Cambrian Colleges as well as Lakehead, Laurentian and Queen’s Universities. Our delivery may be full time or part time, at our campuses in Fort Frances or Kenora and sometimes, in communities, depending on number and demand.
